Nothing that is goes against nature, because nature is the way things are…. Nature encompasses all contradictions.
— from “This Nature” essay, Pattiann Rogers

In my everyday waking moments while out running or walking, I become curious. I wonder why a biloba tree has not dropped its golden leaves or I stand still before a morning beach horizon as gulls fly low. I take a photo or video to revisit later.

This notice of nature, seeing and then capturing in one image the intimate knowledge of creation, fascinates and holds me captive. It compels me to write poetry. To be present in this brief story of the natural world and respond to it consciously and with love. Yes, it is that sense of awe, the wonder of our earth and beyond earth.

I invite you into my poetry and photos. They provide for me delight, renewal and tenderness for the impermanence and brevity of all life. I hope you find enjoyment here and in all of nature, all poetry.
